There are many wonderful characters in Emma, from the coy heroine herself to the charming but witty Mr. Knightley, even the quirky Mr. Woodhouse and the interminable Mrs. Elton. I fear that despite my devotion, some of them I do not at all like. So, as Emma says herself, "I shall have to throw a party for them... so everyone does not sense at once how much I dislike them."
